Prosthetic Engineering Technologies (PET) was established in the year 2020 as the first prosthetic liner manufacturer on the African continent. The company was founded by Luvuyo Sume, an industrial engineer with over 20 years’ experience in manufacturing spanning production management, process engineering, lean manufacturing implementation, quality management etc. and Riaan Knight, a clinical prosthetist with over 40 years’ experience.
PET was established to localize the manufacturing of prosthetic components. The company is SAHPRA licenced and ISO 13485 pending.
PET is currently exporting to Namibia and India.
